Alkali Lake pow wow dancing

File consists of photographs of a pow wow hosted in Alkali Lake. The Alkali Lake Dance Group, led by president Johnny Johnson, hosted this pow wow of non-traditional pow-wow style dancing, which was received enthusiastically.

Asian Cultural Festival

File consists of photographs documenting Norman Tait and his crew of carvers preparing to take part in the Asian Cultural Festival in Vancouver. The event was hosted by the Vancouver Museum, and the images show Norman Tait leading a family meeting about the event, as well as preparation of regalia, and the event itself.

B&W duplicates of slides

File consists of black and white duplicates of colour slides taken by Jensen. Colour printing was expensive at the time, so Jensen printed the images in black and white to use for research purposes.

Bud Mintz artists

File consists of photographs of artists represented by Vancouver gallery owner Bud Mintz. Some of the photographs were taken at the Museum of Anthropology at a show organized by Mintz. Artists recorded in this file include: Robert Davidson, Reg Davidson, Phil Janze, Don Yeomans, and Norman Tait. A small number of photographs are not identified.

Capilano Mall totem poles

File consists of photographs documenting the carving and raising of two poles by Norman Tait and his crew at Capilano Mall. There was also an "extra" pole carved, depicting bear prints, to hide a beam at the back of the bear pole that would have been visible from several shops. The poles were raised on April 15 1986 and July 1 1986.

Dance performance at the PNE

File consists of photographs of a dance performance at the Pacific National Exhibition grounds in Vancouver 1998. Norman Tait had completed a private pole commission that was publicly carved at the PNE, and he formed a group of Nisga'a dancers to commemorate the event.
