Alaska State Museum

File contains correspondence and art packages. The two art packages consists of Northwest Coast Art and The Whale House of the Chilkat. These packages contain historic photographs with full explanations, as well as high lighting the design elements. They were published by the Alaska State Museum.

Tlingit Long-tail canoe

File mainly contains textual records related to the Tlingit Long-tail Canoe Exhibit. Textual records mainly consist of photocopies of historical photographs of Tlingit canoes. Other textual records include copies of correspondence between McLennan and the Royal British Columbia Museum, where many of the images were obtained from, and information about the exhibit, including a promotional handout, and a project report.

The images contained in this file are historic photographs of Tlingit canoes.

Photographs from album

File contains images of the First Nation artists involved with the <i>Through My Eyes</i> exhibit. The images show them looking at objects in the Vancouver Museum's collection. The artists shown in the photographs are Cyril Carpenter, Ben Davidson, Robert Davidson, Norman Tait, Isabel Rorick, Doreen Jensen, Judge Alfred Scow, Lyle Wilson, Dolly Watts, Bill Reid, Glen Tallio, Richard Hunt, Terry Starr, Tim Paul, Richard Summer, Dempsey Bob, Jim Hart, and William White.

Norman Tait

File contains images of Norman Tait and his work at various stages of his career. In addition is a copy of transcript of an interview with Norman Tait conducted by Marjorie Halpin.

Gitxsan

File contains historical photographs of Gitxsan villages, with a specific focus on totem poles and various buildings in the villages. There are also some images of the Gitxsan people in regalia. The textual records contain information to some of the photographs, listing the photograph's title and the museum and/or archive it originated from.

Salish

File contains a combination of historical photographs depicting village life of the Coast Salish people, and modern day photographs of Salish artifacts housed in various museums around the world. The historical photographs contain images of Coast Salish peoples, totem poles, house posts, canoes, and petroglyphs. The modern day photographs contain images of Coast Salish artifacts such as blankets, spindle whorls, masks, carvings, house posts and totem poles, and household items such as combs and bowls. The textual records contained in this file are photocopies of images of Coast Salish artifacts housed in various museums around the world.

Photos of canoes

File contains images of canoes from various Northwest Coast First Nations communities including Tsimshian, Haida, Nuxalk, Kwakwaka'wakw and Nuu-chah-nulth.

Canoe label

File contains information about the Northwest Coast canoe including how they're made, their importance, and their history. There are also photocopied images of canoes from the Nuu-chah-nulth and the Kwakwaka'wakw communities.

Photos of Elders

File consists of slides labeled "Andy," "Mr and Mrs Williams, Friendly Cove, Nootka," "Anthony Island Queen Charlotte Island 1967," "Minn Sketching at Yan QCI, Haida," "Kitwancool 1969," "Kasper," "Mary Ann 1967 Squamish," and "Kingcome."
