Subseries consists of material related to the production of Stewart's book The Adventures and Sufferings of John R. Jewitt: Captive of Maquinna, first published in 1995. This book contains the previously published narrative written by Jewitt (published in 1816), with annotations and illustrations by Stewart.

File contains a copy of a thesis by Dawn Skee' Jackson and correspondence relating to a Tlingit burial box.

The fonds reflects Minn Sjolseth's artistic career and travels to First Nations communities throughout British Columbia and Alaska with her husband Anthony Carter. Contents of the fonds depict First Nations cultures in British Columbia between 1960 and 1980, including Haida, Coast Salish, Kwakwaka'wakw, Gitsegukla, Kispiox, and Nisga'a. Several of the contents depict notable figures, including Chief Dan George and August Jacks.

The fonds includes textual records including correspondence, ephemera, newspaper clippings; graphic materials such as photographs, slides, negatives, and transparencies that depict Sjolseth’s travels and artworks; and artworks produced by Sjolseth including paintings, drawings, and prints.

Fonds consists of photographic prints and text labels used in the “Emergence from the Shadow: First Peoples’ Photographic Perspective” exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, from October 22, 1999 to January 6, 2002. The images depict several different First Nations groups including Haida, Kimsquit, Bella Coola, Ulkatcho-Carrier, Chilcotin, Assiniboine, and Gitksan. The label text incorporates information which Smith recorded at the time of creation. It gives name and age (if known) of the sitters as well as lineage, employment, and style of dress.

Subseries includes handwritten translations of the audio and video interviews.
Translations were done by Daisy Sewid-Smith and sent to Martine J. Reid for editing.

File contains copies of correspondence between David Cunningham and the K'omoks First Nation regarding a mask that was lent to a travelling exhibit titled "Written in the Earth".

File contains a copy of the <i>Through my Eye</i> exhibit record, as well as copies of the exhibit's excerpts from the Vancouver Museum. There is also a postcard from the Vancouver Museum of a Tsimshian frontlet.

File contains images of Norman Tait and his work at various stages of his career. In addition is a copy of transcript of an interview with Norman Tait conducted by Marjorie Halpin.

The newsletter contains 7 articles about the museum as well as photographs, facsimiles of artworks, and general visitor information. Subjects include the exhibition Recalling the Past: A Selection of Early Chinese Art from the Victor Shaw Collection and MOA's Asian collections, Stó:lō Chief Frank Malloway, events related to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), MOA's new collections management system, an award of merit granted to the production team of From Under the Delta, the publication of The Potter's Art edited by Carol Mayer, and the launch of a multi-museum admission program called The Great Escapes. Also included is a Calendar of Events.

File contains text for object label, biographical information on Tim Paul, photocopies of newspaper clippings, and correspondence regarding Paul's event in Sweden.
