Edenshaw artifacts photos

File contains images of some of the artifacts in the Edenshaw exhibit, including argilite, carvings, hats, and metal works. The textual records in this record include photocopies of other artifacts in the exhibit, as well as photocopies of Northwest Coast artifacts housed in other museums.

Artifacts: mask, argillite, mauls

Image depicts a display of artifacts that appear to be predominately from the Northwest Coast cultural groups, including a mask, argillite totem poles, and mauls. Printed underneath the image is the photographer information: "Thos. E. Perkins, Toronto".

Kaagan

File consists of images taken at or near Slatechuck Mountain on Haida Gwaii (called Kaagan in the Haida language). This mountain, located near Queen Charlotte City, is best known as a source of argillite, a rare form of slate used in Haida art. Images in this file show individuals harvesting argillite, in addition to images of women harvesting and preparing spruce roots to weave baskets, and images of the Golden Spruce tree that formerly stood in the area.

Argillite

File consists of images of two carvings made from argillite. The images were purposefully taken so that the scale of the object can not be determined. Photographs were taken in the Museum of Anthropology.
