Repair, Re-use and Recycle

The exhibit was co-curated by Louise Jackson and Elizabeth Johnson. It was installed at MOA from Feb 18 to May 24, 1992. Subseries consists of records relating to the exhibit "Repair, Re-use and Recycle" installed at MOA in 1992. This exhibit focused on Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Philippine, Dutch and Salish textiles. The intent of the exhibit was to highlight the various techniques used by different cultures to prolong the life of household goods. Subseries includes an artifact list, a diagram, a drawing, exhibit labels and notes.

Hands of Our Ancestors: The Revival of Salish Weaving at Musqueam

Subseries consists of records relating to the exhibit, "Hands of Our Ancestors: The Revival of Salish Weaving at Musqueam," which was installed at MOA from January 28 to July 20, 1986. The exhibit was co-curated by Wendy Grant and Debra Sparrow of the Musqueam Weavers, and Elizabeth Johnson of MOA. File contains images of Lyle Wilson's work as well was Wilson's notes regarding a canoe at the American Museum of Natural History and ephemera from an exhibit at the West Vancouver Museum titled <i>North Star: The Art of Lyle Wilson</i>.

Canadian Museum of Civilization [1 of 2]

File contains photographs and transparencies of various Northwest Coast artifacts housed at the then called Canadian Museum of Civilization [now the Canadian Museum of History]. Commonwealth [conference installation]

Subseries consists of records related to the 1987 Commonwealth Conference which brought together heads of government, delegates and media from every commonwealth country in the world. The MOA contributed examples of Northwest Coast art to the conference.

Annotated photographs

File contains photo-copies of images of First Nation community members in Alert Bay and at St. Mike's Residential School. The photographs were taken to community elders who had been at the residential school so that they could annotate the photographs.
