Alex Hanuse was born in [1913?] in Alert Bay, British Columbia, to Chief Harry Hanuse and Mary Deborah Charlie. His siblings included: Lucy Marion (Adawis), Annie Laura Hanuse, George Harry Hanuse, Alice Hanuse, Alfred James Hanuse, Edgard Hanuse, Frederick Clarence Hanuse, Florence Hanuse, Wilfred Hanuse, and Stella Mae Hanuse. He was married to Gertrude (Gertie) Hanuse (nee Martin) on January 21, 1935. Alex was a logger in Alert Bay and he drowned on the [5-16?] of December 1950, at the age of 37, with his two brothers, Fred and Wilfred Hanuse.
