Subseries consists of several annotated copies of McLennan’s “Beneath the Patina: using technology to expand the study of Northwest Coast painting” for the Otsego Institute for Native American Art History conference held in Cooperstown, New York, from August 7-9, 1998. Subseries also includes correspondence between McLennan and conference organizers, and photograph permission requests.
This file contains images of the Bill Reid pole which sat outside the Haida House at the Museum of Anthropology. These images show the pole being taken down due to it no longer being stable.
Collection consists of an Eaton's Promotion Brochure titled "Eaton's Salute to Indian Culture" circa 1966-1967. Highlights displays and activities undertaking traditional arts and cultural events.
Fonds consists of various photographic materials and a small number of textual records. Glass plate negatives document totem poles, house fronts, street scenes, church groups, school groups, weddings, the local store and maritime subjects in Alert Bay. Textual records include a Christmas card from Alert Bay Radio and two small pamphlets of photography instructions printed by "J. Mennie, Developing & Printing Service." The oldest negative dates from 1862, though the identity of its photographer is unknown.
