File includes one drawing and two photographs of MOA Object ID A1780 and A1781 which are carved figures. The photographs are annotated with handwritten information about their original repositories. The contents of this file were used to create object labels for MOA's Great Hall.

Basil and Edythe Hartley fonds

Fonds consists of audio, video, and visual materials created by Basil and Edythe Hartley. Materials include video footage of the Haisla people, which Hartley shot while working in Kitimaat from 1941-1944, a voiceover for the footage which Hartley’s widow, Edythe McClure, created in ca. 1983, a letter, and three photographs of Kitimat people and landscapes. The three audio cassettes all contain the same 1983 recording.

Bill Reid and Doug Cranmer

Bill Reid and Doug Cranmer carving the frontal plaque of double mortuary pole to be displayed near the Haida house at totem park. The pole (A50032) is now at MOA, on the grounds behind the museum.

Kootenays [Typed & Handwritten transcripts]

File contains Ryckman's typed notes on the history of the Kootenay people and on some Kootenay stories. File also contains 3 handwritten pages (probably by Ryckman's daughter) with what are described as 14 "creeds" of the Kootenay people, translated by a Father De Smet (?) passed by a Father Patterson to Ryckman.

Norman Tait describes his art and totem pole carving at MOA, in an interview by Marjorie Halpin. He “points” to specific pieces at the museum. Pole A50020 is one of the poles they discuss (in the first part of the interview). The interview is on side A of the tape. Side B is blank.
