Custodial history

Scope and content

Series consists of photographic negatives and prints of items from Walter and Marianne Koerner's personal collection. Subjects include ceramics and First Nations art. It is likely that many of the photographs were taken by Eugene Horvath, who acted as a sort of personal assistant to Walter Koerner's collecting hobby. It is probable that most of the photographs in this series were made for use in the collection catalogues.

Physical condition

Most of the negatives are suffering from at least mild stages of acetate degradation.

Arrangement

Files labelled "Horvath 3837 Osler St 00-12019" were received in ziplock bags with the just mentioned label written on them. It is surmised that these were photographs taken by Eugene Horvath, a ceramics scholar of Hungarian descent living in Vancouver. Other files were variously held in folders, containers, and ziplock bags. Current arrangement reflects the original groupings of items and file names follow original container labels.
