Jim Pollard (Kixlanae) - Kinsquit - BC, 1922

Was born ca. 1859 and his parents are from old Kimsquit village. Photographed in an old Indian house Jim is wearing a ceremonial costume used in the Ksiut dances of Saiutr. He is wearing a whiteman’s blanket decorated with mother of pearl buttons. His assistant is Lame Charlie who is carrying a mask carved to represent Saiutt

Policeman Clukus Lake Tommie - Carrier, BC, 1920

Tommie and his daughter Annie were photographed at Pashla Creek, Bella Koola. He
thinks he is about 40 years old and Annie is 6 years old. He says he is a Stick Indian and was the Indian policeman in Ulkatcho region in 1920. Harlan Smith sent a photographic print to him March 11, 1921
