Convergence 2002

Subseries consists of records relating to an event entitled Convergence hosted by the Handweavers Guild of America. In particular the records in this series focus on the Museum of Anthropology’s involvement and correspondence supporting the 2002 Convergence in Vancouver, hosted by the Greater Vancouver Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild. Records relating to the event planning activities include correspondence, letters of reference for participants in the event, presentation and seminar proposals, artist biographies, resumes, business cards, delegate registration book, schedules, roles and responsibilities, guidelines, planning notes, textile list, culturally sensitive object list, workshop descriptions and schedules, loan receipts, memoranda, Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot periodical, and ephemera.

Repatriation Panels

Subseries consists of records pertaining to the “Repatriation Panels” exhibit installed at the MOA. The text panels present issues concerning repatriation and First Nations history under colonialism. Subseries contains handwritten notes, memoranda, exhibit panel drafts, reports, exhibit proposal, a brochure, a recommended readings list, drafts, photocopies of newspaper articles, correspondence, exhibit statement drafts, minutes, photocopied images, and an annotated bibliography.

Series consists of correspondence relating to the general administrative activities and responsibilities of Elizabeth Johnson in her capacity as Curator of Documentation, Curator of Collections, Curator of Ethnology, and as Curator of Textiles. Nunavutmiutanik Elisasiniq

Subseries consists of a newsletter pertaining to the exhibit “Nunavutmiutanik Elisasiniq.” This exhibit was installed at the MOA from April - September 1999. This exhibition honours the people of Nunavut, and features more than one hundred examples of contemporary and historic sculptures, prints, and drawings.

The Unity Quilt

Subseries consists of records relating to the exhibit, The Unity Quilt. Elizabeth Johnson was coordinator and co-curator with Ellen Antoine of the Indian Homemakers of BC. This exhibit focused on work made by participants in the Traditional Parenting Skills Program of the Indian Homemakers’ Association of B.C. Proud to be Musqueam: Dedicated to Our Children

Subseries consists of records relating to the exhibit "Proud to be Musqueam: Dedicated to Our Children." The exhibit was coordinated by Lizanne Fisher and Elizabeth Johnson. It was installed at MOA in 1989; a travelling version was later created. Subseries includes agreements, Anthropology 341 course outline, brochures, correspondence, exhibit labels, funding proposal, memos, notes, permission forms, phone message, articles from conferences, newspapers and professional journals, and a student paper.
