Case 19 - West Coast '71

File consists of slides including: 1971 trip (includes air views), Opitsat, Long Beach, Ucluclet, Sarita Anacla, Clotus, Clo-oose, Cullite, Carmanah, Cheewhat, Wyack, Tsuquanah caves, Masit, Kichha, Benson Island, Effingham, Equis, Keith, Jaques, Nettle and Turtle Islands. Note: Map slides, not listed in Duff's index but related to the content of the case, have been added.

Case 18 - 1971

File consists of slides including: Roy Hanuse paintings, art of Dixon and White, work of Davidson, 1971 Centennial Poles at Provincial Museum in Victoria. Note: Includes duplicate in group of Davidson slides. Slides of Dixon work and unidentified poles are duplicates of those found in argillite group in case 4.

Case 17 - Gitksan

File consists of slides including: Kitwancool, Kitselas, Kitwanga, Kispiox, b&w slides of Kitsegukla, Gitksan grave markers.

Case 16 - Kwakiutl

File consists of slides including: Fort Rupert, Tsulquate, Alert Bay scenery, poles, and people.

Case 15 - Alaska 3

File consists of slides including: air trip to West Coast, trip to Alaska, Opitsat , Kasaan, Ketchikan. Note: Slides in sections B-a to B-d, C-a to C-e, and D-a were apparently moved later to case 19. Air views have been restored here for space reasons. They may overlap similar sequence found in case 19. Images include totem poles and carved beaver.

Case 14 - Alaska 2

File consists of slides including: trip to Alaska (includes air views),Village Island views, Haida villages, Wrangell and Stikine glaciers, Sitka. Note: Includes one duplicate slide in section D.

Case 13 - Alaska 1

File consists of slides including: trip to Alaska (includes air views), poles at Old Kasaan, New Kasaan Tongass views and poles, Village Island views and poles.

Case 12 - 1970-4

File consists of slides including : trip to Hazelton, Rupert, Lytton, b&w slides of artifacts, Provincial Museum exteriors, 1970 exhibit. Note: Slides of Davidson box design and Roy Hanuse paintings, listed in section E, appear to have been moved later by Duff to case 18. Slide #37 added to D-25.

Case 11 - 1970-3

File consists of slides including: exhibits at Museum of Natural History, exhibits at Museum of History and Technology, July 1970, trip to Hazelton, Rupert, and other locations. Images include Kitwancool, Skeena and Kitwanga poles and Kispiox totems.

Case 10 - 1970-2

File consists of slides including: United States National Museum specimens, exhibits at Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia. Images include panel pipes, Bear Mother sculptures, carved plates, slate poles, model houses, masks, ladles and bowls. Artefacts pictured are presumed to be of Northwest Coast Indigenous design.

Case 9 - 1970-1

File consists of slides including: British Columbia scenery, National Gallery exhibit of Northwest Coast artifacts, Montreal, Mystic Seaport, American Museum of Natural History specimens. Note: Slide of shaman mask, not included in index, but marked "1970-1-F," added to section F.

Case 8 - 1969 Reid

File consists of slides including: Borthwick bracelet, Duff mask, Smithsonian specimens, slides taken by Bill Reid, miscellaneous slides taken in Washington, D.C., slides from Art of the Raven. Note: Includes list, by frame number, of Reid’s slides. Some slides in section E-a, and most in section D-e, are duplicates.

Case 7 - 1969 Masset

File consists of slides including: Lipsett Collection chest and box, U.B.C education totem, Edenshaw bracelet and gravestone rubbings, Koerner panel pipe, trip to Masset.

Case 6 - B&W Kwakiutl-Haida

File consists of slides including: Vancouver and U.B.C., Curtis Kwakiutl slides, Haida and Kwakiutl villages and groups; portraits, Port Simpson and Metlakatla scenery; maps. Note: Slides of Hazelton and Nootkans added in section B, slots 24 and 25. Photos of Charles Edenshaw added in section D. Includes 1 glass slide.

Case 5 - 68-69

File consists of slides including: Bella Bella and Nootka poles, Juneau, Sitka, and Nanaimo poles, Port Hardy poles, Stanley Park poles and canoes, Mt. Currie housing, views of Rebecca Spit and Cape Mudge, aerial views, archaeological digs, sculpture, labrets, relief maps, Petroglyph Park, Skagat Attatl, George Clutesi Mungo poles, Provincial Museum at Victoria, Thunderbird Park. Note: Slides of Saanic have been added to section E-25.

Case 4 - Centennial poles

File consists of slides showing poles by a number of different carvers. Includes: Sam Henderson, Henry Hunt, Tony Hunt, C. Dudoward, S. Modeste, S. Charlie, J. John, J. James, S. Walkus, W. Jeffrey, Alert Bay carvers, U.B.C. Totem Park Haida poles, Victoria museum,carving tools, ferry shots. Note: Includes lists of argillite slides, centennial totem pole programme carvers and judges, and text of legends. Argillite slides have been added; these are duplicated in part in case 18.

Case 3 - 62-65

File consists of slides including: views of Hazelton, views of Kiusta, views of Fort Fraser, views of Stuart Lake, views of Babinetown, Skeena and Bulkley scenery, Moricetown fishing, poles, Fraser Lake poles, Prince Rupert poles, 1962 helicopter trip, Cassiar cannery , canomiaks[?], whaling. Note: Slides of places, taken in 1960 and 1962, have been added. Slides of Kitwanga and Kispiox listed in index poles appear to have been moved later by Duff to case 17; those of Fort Rupert appear to have been moved to case 16.

Includes: masks, daggers, Kwakiutl figures, designs, textiles, Raven Screen details, painted Duff box, drums, spindle whorls, rattles, spoons, Kwakiutl masks, work of Mungo Martin,work of H. Hunt, work of Bill Holm, work of Bill Reid, U.B.C. panel pipes, U.B.C. slate dish, chests, Haida dishes and comb. Note: Slides in section C-c are duplicates. Artefacts pictured are of Haida and Kwakiutl design.
