Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, announcements, handwritten notations, guides and publications related to Shane’s participation in various committees such as the British Columbia Museums Association’s Ownership Committee and the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board’s Signing Expert Examiner in Ethnography. Also included are records relating to Shane’s role as the Canadian representative of the Association of College and University Museums and Galleries.

Series consists of material accumulated as a result of the museum’s interaction with the public. Records in this series are found in the forms of correspondence, press releases, ephemera, memoranda, account statements, questionnaires, minutes, and newspaper clippings.

External Relations Files

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, handwritten notations, reports, newspaper clippings, journal articles, pamphlets, minutes, financial statements, papers, membership lists, photographs and other textual and graphic material related to the Museum of Anthropology’s relations with individuals, organizations, and associations external to the museum. Series includes records related to museum membership vis-à-vis the short-lived Friends of the Museum of Anthropology, the museum’s public relations activities, and events held by external organizations or groups at the museum, such as APEC, inquiries and requests received by the museum, including requests for guided visits, as well as records regarding the collection of visitor comments. In addition to Ames’ general communications and correspondence, the series also includes records relating to the Museum of Anthropology’s relations with other museums and institutions. This includes correspondence and other records regarding the director’s participation in a number of external museum-related committees and associations.

This series consists of material relating to the physical environment in which the museum operates. Series is further arranged into subseries, with the records in the subseries arranged chronologically. The records in the series are composed of photographs, work order forms, correspondence, and memoranda. Subseries consists of correspondence, memoranda, plans, financial documents, design plans, minutes, budgets, notes, and contracts.

Facilities and services

Series consists of records relating to Skooker Broome’s responsibilities as a liaison and coordinator of the Museum of Anthropology’s facilities and services. Areas of focus include building maintenance and renovations, and public works. Records include architectural drawings and presentation boards for proposed facility renovations, correspondence, memoranda, and minutes.

Also included are records relating to building maintenance; this includes records relating to building security and museum grounds.

Finances Files

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, grant applications and related forms, financial statements and reports, handwritten notations, donor lists, receipts of donations, published material, newspaper clippings, and other textual records related to the administration of the museum’s finances. Includes files related to the museum’s budget and sources of revenue and funding, including: records of donations and grant applications.

Financial files

Series consists of textual records and photographs related to funding received by the Public Relations and Communications Office and the Museum of Anthropology. Includes records related to public relations budgets, campaigns to raise funds for the museum, grants and trusts applied for or received by the museum, as well as records regarding sponsorship by Corporate Friends of the Museum and museum members.

Financial Records

Series consists of records pertaining to MoA fund raising and grant applications. Series includes copies of correspondence with other curators and a directory to foundations. Series contains information and a copy of a MoA grant proposal.

Series consists of images found in or related to Carter’s [date] published work. Focus is on photographic representations of First Nations communities located throughout British Columbia. Localities include: Alert Bay, Gwayasdums (Gilford Island), Karlukwees (Turnour island), Kingcome Inlet, Mamalilikulla, and Uchucklesaht. Series includes images of totem poles and community members from Ehattesaht, Kwakiutl (Kwakwaka’wakw) and Nuu-chah-nulth nations. Files are generally arranged chronologically according to subject matter and/or locality. Galleries and exhibitions development

This series reflects Krug’s involvement in developing and assessing various projects related to exhibitions and galleries. It includes records relating to Krug’s proposal for an audio tape project that would document the reflections of various people who had had significant involvement with the Museum; records created during the process of soliciting proposals for designing and building a prototype visible storage case; a report on virtual collections; drafts, reports, and correspondence created during the planning of Gallery 3; and records from the Exhibitions Committee. Materials include proposals, correspondence, minutes, reports, memorandums, and architectural drawings.

General

Series consists of material relating to the fundamental activities of museum operation. This series comprises material such as annual reports, policy and procedure records which are arranged chronologically by date within subseries. The records in this series take the form of correspondence, minutes, memoranda, annotated policy documents, drafts of procedure documents, schedules, blank item cataloguing cards sample forms, notes, financial statements, budgets, ephemera, and reports.

General

Series consists of Conservation records that cannot be attributed to a specific member of the Conservation staff. There are currently only two files in this series. As of 2017, the majority of Conservation records in the archives came from Conservator Miriam Clavir. These records can be found in the Miram Clavir series of the Conservation sous-fonds.

General Administration

This series consists of records created, received, and/or used by individuals, groups or committees responsible for public programming and education function of the Museum.
Contains records related to public programming and education policy development, finances, planning, as well as other administrative activities.
Records in this series include correspondence, memoranda, drafts, query/suggestion forms, meeting minutes, grants, acquisition proposal report, reports, guidelines, policy proposals, and handwritten notes.

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, minutes, reports, contracts and agreements, handwritten notations, draft copies, newspaper clippings, photographs, slides, and other textual and graphic records related to the general administration of the museum and the administrative activities and responsibilities of the Director. Includes records related to museum policies and procedures and their development, the planning of museum activities and goals, the evaluation and accountability of the museum, including files containing museum annual report information and files regarding reviews of the museum, records regarding contracts and agreements made by the museum, and records related to various museum committees. The series also includes records related to the administration of the museum in general, including files regarding the early history of the museum, executive committee and staff meetings and memoranda, as well as files of correspondence and minutes of meetings relating to communications and involvement with the Dean of Arts and the President’s Office.

Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, grant applications, forms, guides, budget discussions, minutes from Curators’ meetings, notes from staff retreats relating to policies and procedures, job descriptions and institutional goals and other textual material relating to the daily administrative needs of the Museum. Included are a certificate of recognition, correspondence with the Cultural Property Import and Export Board, guides to cataloguing and classification systems and correspondence with UBC’s computing centre as well as the Department of Anthropology regarding the Museum’s computer needs.
