Sasquatch Conference

Sub-series consists of records relating to Halpin’s planning and organization of the Sasquatch conference. The records include correspondence between Halpin and speakers, scholars, general inquiries regarding the conference, interdepartmental memorandas, funding and grant applications, conference paper abstracts, articles, book reviews, conference summaries, news releases, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, postcards, photographs, sew-on patches with Sasquatch figures on them, and audio cassettes of interviews and presentations from the Sasquatch conference.

Sand painting

Subseries contains one file that consists of images of Buddhist monks creating a sand painting in the great hall of MOA.

Ron Hamilton exhibit

Sub-series consists of textual and graphic records related to the public exhibition of drawings and poems by Nuu-Chah-nulth artist, Ron Hamilton, which depict the cosmology of the First Nations people. Records include an artists’ biography, notes on exhibit planning, loan forms, and a copy of the exhibit comment book. Also included are photographs from the exhibit and of Hamilton’s drawings, recordings of First Nations gatherings taped at the exhibit, and sound recordings of comments by Hamilton on his work.

Robes of power: Totem poles on cloth

Subseries contain the images used in the booklet Robes of Power: Totem Poles on Cloth written by Doreen Jensen and Polly Sargent, as well as a copy of the booklet. In addition, there are images of a children's workshop that took place during the exhibit at the Museum of Anthropology.

Robert Davidson Pepsi-Co Commission

Subseries consists of material created by Jacquie Gijssen and Karen Duffek, two MOA employees who were in charge of McLennan’s office while he was working on Expo ’86. During this time, they visited Robert Davidson at his studio in Semiahoo Village where he was carving three totem poles for the Pepsi Cola Sculpture Garden. Karen interviewed Robert about the work on two occasions and Jacquie photographed the work on the pole over the year of 1986. The series consists of interview notes by Karen and negatives and slides by Jacquie.

Subseries consist of material related to the production of Stewart's book Robert Davidson: Haida Printmaker, published in 1979.

Robert Davidson exhibit

Sub-series consists of textual records from the one-man show of Northwest Coast First Nations artist Robert Davidson. Records include exhibit correspondence, newspaper articles and a copy of the Canadian Conservation Institute Journal (vol. 3, 1978) that contains an article by Davidson.
