Sub-series consists of textual records related to the exhibition “Sensibilities” that challenged the notations of segregated collections space according to culture. The basic premise of the exhibit was for the viewer to come up with their own interpretation as to the objects presented before them. Records include exhibit planning notes, exhibit floor plan drawings, correspondence, loan forms, and newspaper articles about the exhibit.

Sub-series consists of textual records from the exhibit “ Ouroboros” by Stephen Clark, and curated by Halpin. Records include correspondence between Halpin and Clark, letters received by Halpin, an exhibit pamphlet, a public relations release, newspaper articles on the exhibit, and a copy of the exhibit comment book.

Sub-series consists of records related to the 1986 exhibition on the art of Jack Shadbolt and includes textual records, photographs, slides, and one lecture tape. The textual records include grants and contracts, correspondence requesting loans of specific artwork for the exhibit, records relating to exhibit planning and compilation of the exhibit catalogue, exhibit reviews, a copy of the exhibit comment book, and interviews with Shadbolt. Also included are photographs of exhibit pieces.

Sub-series consists of textual records related to Dr. Halpin’s participation on a number of committees while working at the museum. General committee records include meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence on the development of ethics and policies for the museum and new curricula in the Anthropology department. Records from the Research and Teaching Committee include budget reports, grant application forms, administrative records, and proposal reports for a new MA degree in Advanced Museum and Curatorial Studies.

Sub-series consists of textual records including correspondence, reports and memos containing background information and exhibition ideas for the new exhibition space, Gallery III.

Sub-series consists of textual records related to Halpin’s work on a number of videos. Included is the narrative for the video “Introduction to Totem Poles” and notes and photographic research for the U’mista project.

Sub-series consists of textual records relating to visiting scholars who gave public lectures at the Museum of Anthropology. Included is correspondence and memos to A. Gerbrands, Paul Gibbons, Emmett Hannibal, and Lawrence Moss.

Sub-series consists of textual records related research on and the roundtable discussion on Inuit Art. Includes correspondence regarding the schedule and program of the meeting, a list of attendees, and information on specific artifacts.

Sub-series consists of records relating to Halpin’s planning and organization of the Sasquatch conference. The records include correspondence between Halpin and speakers, scholars, general inquiries regarding the conference, interdepartmental memorandas, funding and grant applications, conference paper abstracts, articles, book reviews, conference summaries, news releases, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, postcards, photographs, sew-on patches with Sasquatch figures on them, and audio cassettes of interviews and presentations from the Sasquatch conference.

Sub-series consists of records related to “The Tent of Meeting”, a traveling exhibition of art and music sponsored by the Santa Fe Council of the Arts. Dr. Halpin was involved in discussions to bring the display to Vancouver for Expo ’86.

Sub-series consists of textual records including the report by Lindsey Rivers titled “An Evaluation of the Museum of Anthropology Summer Internship Programme” which was submitted for Anthropology 431, Museum Principles and Techniques, April 1983.

Sub-series consists of textual records including articles, student papers, and photographs accumulated in order to create a source book for Anthropology 432 taught by Dr. Halpin. It also consists of course outlines and bibliographies for Anthropology 431, which was also taught by Dr. Halpin.

Records include biographies, correspondence, newspaper clippings, magazine articles and exhibit brochures on Bill Reid, Laura Wee Lay Laq, Roy Vickers, and Art Thompson.

Sub-series consists of textual records related to the exhibit on the voyages of Captain Cook to Nootka Sound. Included is the paper “Encounter 1778: Drawings and Watercolours of Nootka Sound by John Webber” by Natalie MacFarlane, exhibit scripts, video scripts, correspondence, and loan forms for the Webber drawings.

Sub-series consists of textual records for the exhibit titled “NMM: Children of the Raven” based on the beliefs and culture of British Columbia First Nations, with an emphasis on ceremonial objects and their iconographic meanings. Records include memos; exhibit floor plans, text blocks for exhibit, and colour drawings of items in the exhibit.

Records include newspaper reviews, correspondence, exhibit proposal and planning, and transcripts from interviews with chiefs and village elders. Also included are slides of portraits of chiefs and elders.

Records include an artist biography, exhibit planning notes, correspondence regarding the purchase of Joe David prints, a list of MOA objects by Joe David and newspaper articles. Also included is one cassette tape of an interview with Joe David.

Sub-series consists of textual and graphic records related to the public exhibition of drawings and poems by Nuu-Chah-nulth artist, Ron Hamilton, which depict the cosmology of the First Nations people. Records include an artists’ biography, notes on exhibit planning, loan forms, and a copy of the exhibit comment book. Also included are photographs from the exhibit and of Hamilton’s drawings, recordings of First Nations gatherings taped at the exhibit, and sound recordings of comments by Hamilton on his work.

Sub-series consists of textual records of the Acquisition Committee and items acquired for the museum. Records include minutes from Acquisition Committee meetings, database printouts of items acquired from Northwest Coast artists between 1977-1997, and the transcribed interview with Coast Salish artist Susan Point by Karen Duffek in 1985.

Sub-series consists of textual records including grant applications, a report on the 5- year plan for the museum, policies on museum access, photography, professional guidelines and acquisitions, and the MOA Review, including reports and submissions to the review committee.
