Subseries contains records related to the <i>Attributed to Edenshaw Exhibit</i> held at MOA from April 28, 1998 through May 30, 2003. This exhibit featured basketry as well as gold, silver, argillite and wood carvings by Haida artists Charles and Isabella Edenshaw. Records include photographs of artifacts identified as potentially on exhibit during the time frame as well as some correspondence and public relations regarding the exhibit.

Artists' statements

File contains faxes from various Northwest Coast artists to McLennan and YVR Airport. The faxes give information about the artists and their artwork, as well as information about Northwest Coast legends if applicable to the work being described.

Artists' renderings

File mainly contains textual records related to YVR's expansion of their International Terminal in 2000, and information about the Northwest Coast Art installations at the airport. The textual records include facts and figures, news releases, and artist renderings of the new wing at YVR. The textual records related to the artwork include information about the installations including the artist's names, materials used to make the installation, the work's dimensions, and the official photographer of the piece. The photographs are of the new wing at YVR.

Artist files

Subseries contains largely photographs of artworks of Northwest Coast First Nations artists located at various cultural heritage institutions as well as in private collections. The majority of the information within the files was collected by McLennan for research purposes, and includes textual documentation about the lives of the artists, correspondence with the artists, information about exhibits based on the artists’ work and newspaper clippings and other stories about the personal life of the artists.

Artifact requests

File contains copies of correspondence from McLennan to various museum curators and artifact owners seeking permission to showcase specific items in their collection in the <i>Signed without Signatures</i> exhibit.

Artifact photographs

File contains images of the artists featured in the Through My Eyes exhibit such as Jim Hart, Bob Dempsey, Bill Reid, Richard Sumner, William White, Isabell Rovidk, Doreen Jensen, Richard Hunt, and Terry Starr. There are also images of some of their pieces, also featured in this exhibit.
