Sub-series consists of textual records, including general research and planning files, permission forms, interviews and biographic information used by Dr. Halpin to develop a number of CD-Rom projects on native artists. The records also include a print out of the “Button Robes” cd-rom project on first nations form of traditional dress and the iconography behind them, and photographs, slides, compact disks, videos, and tapes from the Dorothy Grant project.

This sub-series consists of records relating to the exhibition of the Carl Beam Exhibit at MOA. This exhibition, which was created by the National Gallery of Canada, was exhibited at UBC MOA from April 8th to May 29th 2010 and was curated by Greg Hill. The Exhibit displayed fifty works of Carl Beam, an artist of Anishinaabe (Ojibwa) heritage.
Files contain correspondence, exhibit floor plans, installation instructions from the National Gallery of Canada, photocopies of art works, exhibit captions, promotional materials, and notes for an opening night speech.

Subseries contains one file consisting of correspondence, draft manuscript pages, and photographs relating to the ‘Marie Mauze Project’. This project involved the Kwakiutl Museum (now named the Nuymbalees Cultural Centre) and pieces from their collection that had been returned to them after the ban on potlatches had been lifted. The project was designed in order to create a book, however, the book was never published.
