Exhibit [research and text]

File contains printouts from websites regarding residential schools as well as some copied articles. In addition are copies of some of the text used in the exhibit as well as some images.

Bill's presentation

File contains digital photographs and composite images created in Photoshop. Most of these images were used in the exhibit <i>Speaking to Memory</i>, and were also used in presentations by McLennan on the exhibit. This file contains one sub-folder.

Add on photos Squamish lecture

File contains digital photographs of St. Michael's Residential School as it appears today. In addition are some archival photographs. The images in this file are low resolution because they were used for lectures.

Apologies

File contains typed copies of apology letters held in other archival institutions. Apology letters include those by the Anglican Church, Catholic Church, Federal Government, Presbyterian Church, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the United Church.

Banner hold ups

File contains digital photographs of installing the large canvas images in the <i>Speaking to Memory</i> exhibit.

Working set [photographs]

File contains photo-copies of images of First Nation community members in Alert Bay and at St. Mike's Residential School. The photographs were taken to community elders who had been at the residential school so that they could annotate the photographs. Not all of the images in the file were used in the exhibit.

Bev Brown #1 with names

File contains digital photographs of historic images used in exhibit with hand written names identifying individuals. Photographs were taken by Beverley Brown.

Interviews/consent

File contains consent forms and transcribed interviews with community members. In addition are copies of photographs, mostly from the John Meenie fonds, that were used to show to interviewees.

Digital media

File contains copies of images held at the Royal British Columbia Museum Archives and a pdf document titled "The Role of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police During the Indian Residential School System" produced by the RCMP.

Ephemera

File contains a book titled Jack Shadbolt and the Coastal Indian Image written by Marjorie Halpin and was published in the Museum Notes series as No. 18. In addition is the invitation to the opening event held at the Museum of Anthropology on June 17, 1986.
