Series consists of correspondence in the form of handwritten and typed letters from colleagues, past students, friends and publishers. Some files contain autographed articles or papers, and invitations enclosed with original letters.

Fonds consists of records created by Marjorie Halpin as a professor and scholar of Anthropology. The records mainly consist of textual records and audio-visual material including photographs, slides, audio-cassettes, video-cassettes, posters and maps. The records include correspondence, memoranda, reports, curriculum vitae, cue cards, invitations, lecture notes, planning notes, research notes, draft copies of articles and papers, reviews of publications written by Halpin and reviews of Halpin’s own work, grant applications, budgets, negatives, contact sheets, postcards, overheads, taped interviews, minutes of committee meetings, published proceedings of conferences and other material relating to Halpin’s participation in conferences.

Series consists of notes, audio cassettes, video cassettes, card catalogues and hard copies of email correspondence created from Halpin’s research, as well as notes and paperwork created from research projects conducted by Halpin and research grant applications.

Research Notes

Sub-series consists of mostly textual records in addition to photographs, negatives, slides and contact sheets. The textual records are both handwritten and typed notes, as well as publications of other authors. Research topics undertaken by Halpin include Tsimshian art, Marius Barbeau’s work, the Kitwancool, Gitksan art and William Beynon. Photographs and negatives are mostly of masks, totem poles and rattles.
