1906 delegation to London England [Chief Joe Capilano]

File consists of collected research on the 1906 delegation of Chief Joe Capilano (Squamish), Chief Charley Isipaymilt (Cowichan), and Chief Basil David (Shuswap) to London, England. The purpose of the delegation was to petition the King on topics around land and other rights for BC First Nations.

CMC [Canadian Museum of Civilization]

File contains images from the Northwest Coast collection at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. There are also images of CMC's <i>Treasures of the Tsimshian</i> exhibit that ran from November 2, 2007 – January 6, 2008.

Attributed to Edenshaw

Subseries contains records related to the <i>Attributed to Edenshaw Exhibit</i> held at MOA from April 28, 1998 through May 30, 2003. This exhibit featured basketry as well as gold, silver, argillite and wood carvings by Haida artists Charles and Isabella Edenshaw. Records include photographs of artifacts identified as potentially on exhibit during the time frame as well as some correspondence and public relations regarding the exhibit.

Squamish Lil'wat cultural centre

Subseries contains four files consisting of background information, meeting minutes and correspondence, research on other cultural centres, and reports. McLennan’s role in this project was to consult with community members to help them identify their needs in order to properly house their cultural heritage.

Correspondence and meeting minutes

File mainly contains meeting minutes of the "Cultural Centre Information Meeting of the Squamish Nation". Other records include a Call for Submissions for the <i>First Nations House of Learning Carving Project</i> at the University of British Columbia, and brochure of the <i>Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Uxwumixw: The Squamish Community: Our People and Places</i> exhibit held at the North Vancouver Museum & Archives. The photographs in this record are of two unidentified artifacts with the words "for reference" written on them.

File contains copies of webpages pertaining to the Lil'wat First Nations and the Skwxwú7mesh First Nations. These webpages contain information about one or both of the Nations, including the following: a brief overview of the history and culture of the Lil'wat and/or Skwxwú7mesh ; movements and protests; news stories involving the Lil'wat and/or the Skwxwú7mesh ; and/or maps of traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh First Nations.
