Image taken at a pole raising ceremony in Masset. The pole was carved by Robert Davidson, Jr. This image shows the pole while it is still lying on the ground. Ropes are attached to raise it, with a number of people lined up holding the ropes to pull it up.

Image of a pole from House 17 at Sgang Gwaay (Skunggwai). This is an interior pole from the Raven House. It was removed on a BC Totem Pole Preservation Committee trip in 1957. The pole is now part of the Museum of Anthropology's object collection (A50016).

Kaagan

File consists of images taken at or near Slatechuck Mountain on Haida Gwaii (called Kaagan in the Haida language). This mountain, located near Queen Charlotte City, is best known as a source of argillite, a rare form of slate used in Haida art. Images in this file show individuals harvesting argillite, in addition to images of women harvesting and preparing spruce roots to weave baskets, and images of the Golden Spruce tree that formerly stood in the area.
