File consists of negatives depicting Carter and Minn Sjolseth's travels throughout BC and the Yukon, including items labeled "Bear Totem," "Boat, Van," "Entrance to Stanley Park," "Vancouver Island, Graveyard Bay Village, Esperanza Inlet," "Nicola Valley Campsites," "Jackie Burrows and Richard Farnsworth - Filming Bill Miner at Ft. Steel, BC," and "Yukon Border Sign." The file also contains documentation of Sjolseth's exhibition at the Frye Art Museum and negatives labeled "Minn and paintings."

Basil and Edythe Hartley fonds

Fonds consists of audio, video, and visual materials created by Basil and Edythe Hartley. Materials include video footage of the Haisla people, which Hartley shot while working in Kitimaat from 1941-1944, a voiceover for the footage which Hartley’s widow, Edythe McClure, created in ca. 1983, a letter, and three photographs of Kitimaat people and landscapes. The three audio cassettes all contain the same 1983 recording.

Image depicts a child leaning against the base of a totem pole. The pole shows a human figure with an open mouth. See also item a034827 for another view of this pole.

According to George Read, Stanley Read's son, the pole in the image is the Half Way Out pole of Delgamuukw's house; the boy is Harry Brown, whose Gitxsan name is Xsuwii 'Guus.

Skeena Crossing totem pole

Image depicts a totem pole from Gitsegyukla (Skeena Crossing). Read`s notes call this the Pole of Mawlarhen. Depictions of frogs and an owl are visible. See also item a03426 for another view of this pole.
