Was born ca. 1859 and his parents are from old Kimsquit village. Photographed in an old Indian house Jim is wearing a ceremonial costume used in the Ksiut dances of Saiutr. He is wearing a whiteman’s blanket decorated with mother of pearl buttons. His assistant is Lame Charlie who is carrying a mask carved to represent Saiutt

[Valentina's identification card, 1942]

Identification card for Victor's wife, Valentina, issued by the Swiss Consulate General in Shanghai, and dated July 1, 1942. This card would have been given to her just prior to being interned in a Japanese internment camp for the duration of WWII. A photograph of Valnetina is attached to the card.

U.B.C. Museum of Anthropology Activity Report to the National Museums of Canada For April 1, 1982 to March 31, 1983

The report outlines the museum's administrative activities and finances for the previous fiscal year as well as listing staff, acquisitions, exhibitions, educational activities, lectures, events, loans, research projects, publications of the museum and its staff, and media coverage of the museum. The report was submitted to the National Museums of Canada, from which the museum received an operating grant.
