Photographs and negatives

Sub-series consists of photographs and negatives of various artifacts, events and people. It is assumed that most were taken by Duff, although some are identified as acquired by others. Includes views of boxes and chests; plates, dishes and spoons; figures and groups; chiefs' seats and copper; frontlets, masks, rattles; housefronts and house posts; mortuaries; canes; canoes and paddles; panel pipes; Chilkat blanket and tunic; skin robe; slate objects; Raven Screen details; potlatch; picnic; and scenery.

Binder 8

File consists of photographs of various views of spoons. Accompanying material includes negatives, photocopies, and cut-out. Artefacts pictured are presumed to be of Haida and Northwest Coast Indigenous design.

Binder 6

File consists of photographs of bracelets, boxes and box lids, dishes and plates, carvings, and poles. Includes rubbing of Edenshaw bracelet in [crayon] on tissue paper; and some ms. notations, including design highlighting on photocopies. Contains title page "Charles Edenshaw: Some Late Masterworks." Accompanying material includes ms. notes and cards, typed notes with ms. notations, letters to Duff; negatives; and photocopied views of "The Thinker" and "The Pieta." Artefacts pictured are of Haida design.

File consists of photographs and related records including museum accession record printouts of artifacts attributed to Haida artist Charles Edenshaw, photocopied information about Edenshaw, and a letter re: napkin rings. Artefacts pictured are of Haida design.

File consists of photographs and photocopies of various boxes and chests. Includes views of poles, canoes and screens, photographs of Albert Edward Edenshaw and some of his work. Contains title page "The Art of Edenshaw (Albert Edward Edenshaw, c.1815-1894)". Pages 58 and 109, numbered in 1977, are repeated. Pages added in 1977 for mounted material are numbered as parts of the original page, e.g., 67a, 67b, etc. Accompanying material includes ms. drawings of box designs, and ms. highlighting of design components in photocopied box views; textual material, including ms. notes and cards; photocopies, postcard, and magazine print.
