Item is a hand-tinted glass lantern slide of a tree with a burial boxes. Item is similar to item no. 55, fonds 008 Missionary Society of the Church of England in Canada (MSCC) fonds, from the Anglican Church of Canada General Synod Archives.
Item is a hand-tinted glass lantern slide of nineteen people (adults and children) taking flowers to a grave. Based on the rest of the collection and general aspect, photograph might have been taken in Carcross, Yukon and the grave might be of Bishop Bompas, first Bishop of Selkirk (later Yukon) who died in 1906. Bishop Bompas founded the ChoutlaResidential School. Item is similar to item no. 620, fonds 008 Missionary Society of the Church of England in Canada (MSCC) fonds, from the Anglican Church of Canada General Synod Archives.
Fonds consists of photographic prints and text labels used in the “Emergence from the Shadow: First Peoples’ Photographic Perspective” exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, from October 22, 1999 to January 6, 2002. The images depict several different First Nations groups including Haida, Kimsquit, Bella Coola, Ulkatcho-Carrier, Chilcotin, Assiniboine, and Gitksan. The label text incorporates information which Smith recorded at the time of creation. It gives name and age (if known) of the sitters as well as lineage, employment, and style of dress.
File consists of slides depicting totems and views labeled as in Kispiox, Kitwancool, Ketchikan, Haida, Kitseguckla, Skedans, and Kingcome. File also consists of slides documenting two of Minn Sjolseth's paintings entitled "En av de Siste" (sp?) and "Peace."
