Administration and Planning

Series consists of general administrative records for the Collections unit at MOA, as well as planning documents for specific MOA exhibits. Material includes correspondence, object lists, object condition reports, exhibit travel schedules, and other general collections and exhibit planning records. The series is divided into two subseries:
A. General Collections administration
B. Exhibitions.

Textual records

Series contains textual records created or received by Karen J. Clark during her active years, including printer’s copies, published editions and photocopies of her books, personal correspondence, photocopies of newspaper clippings, and teaching materials.

Sound recordings

Series is divided into two sub-series. Subseries A, Interviews, contains materials gathered by the Tahltan Native Studies Committee with information about the Tahltan culture. Subseries B, Class materials, contains recordings made by Karen J. Clark and some of her students as part of class activities or to be used in class

University of Ibadan Community Studies

The research reports were written by students of the Department of Education at the University of Ibadan. Reports cover studies of various communities is western Nigeria. Collection also includes a map showing the location of the villages, two books published by Jack Lieber, and a piece of correspondence sent to him.

Photographs

Series contains photographs collected for curatorial research by MOA staff, mostly relating to First Nations geographical areas, cultures, and artists. The series also includes photographs documenting MOA activities, staff, and volunteers.

The photographs are organized into two subseries:
A. Early MOA activities and curatorial research
B. MOA Activities, 1976 and later

Video Recordings

Series consists of the video recordings about, by, or related to the Museum of Anthropology. Video recordings can be found in many collections and fonds in the MOA Archives; the recordings in this General Media collection are those that do not belong to a more specific archival collection, usually because their provenance is not known.

Central Coast Salish Art Inventory

Series consists of slides representing the inventory of Central Coast Salish art photographed by Dr. Kew during his visits to various North American museums and the British Museum in preparation for the exhibition Visions of Power Symbols of Wealth: Central Coast Salish Sculpture and Engraving. The images illustrate a wide variety of traditional art objects including masks, adzes, spindle whorls, mat creasers, and totems poles, as well as various jewelry, instruments, and utensils. The series also includes two volumes of the Central Coast Salish Computerized Art Inventory, which provides a detailed physical description of each art object.

Series consists of correspondence, memorandums, student evaluations, student observation data, and reports of the school programs offered by MoA. Series contains brochures for other institutions’ school programs, drafts and final version of education research proposal, as well as school bookings and tour handouts.
