Tait family and crew artists’ photographs

Consists of photographs documenting the work of various artists that assisted Norman Tait in the period that Jensen was photographing his work. Most of the photographs included in this sub-series are of the various side projects that the artists would spend time on whilst major projects such as totem poles were in progress. Artists photographed in this sub-series are: Norman Tait, Isaac Tait, Robert “Chip” Tait, Ron Telek , Wayne Young, Valerie Tait, Alver Tait, Bernice __ .

Task force on museums and First Peoples

Subseries contains files related to Miriam Clavir's service to the Task Force on Museums and First Peoples. It contains correspondence between members and stakeholders, meeting minutes, drafts of reports, reports, and Mrs. Clavir's handwritten notes. A substantial portion of the subseries consists of submissions to the task force made by various stakeholders, which consists of reports and papers related to the relationship between First Nations and Canadian museums and institutions in general.

Teaching and Internship Records

Subseries consists of records related to courses taught by Clavir at the Museum of Anthropology, her training of conservation interns which was primarily funded through the Museum Assistance Programme (MAP), and to Clavir’s participation in the Aboriginal Cultural Stewardship Program. The subseries includes: course outlines, teaching notes, correspondence, memoranda, reports, application forms, cost summaries, funding contracts, a published discussion paper, and a program module.

The subseries is arranged in the following three sub sub subseries:
a: General teaching records
b: Museum Assistance Programme (MAP)
c: Aboriginal Cultural Stewardship Program

Temporary exhibits

Subseries consists of material on exhibits, both at the UBC Museum of Anthropology and elsewhere. Files include material on the following exhibits: People of the Potlatch, The Trader and the Goods of Trade, Roy Vickers. These files include correspondence relating to possible exhibitions of oriental material and of Japanese, Greek, Roman and Etruscan material. The records in this subseries take the form of correspondence, memoranda, notes, sketches, news paper clippings, ephemera, plans and photographs.

Tent of Meetings

Sub-series consists of records related to “The Tent of Meeting”, a traveling exhibition of art and music sponsored by the Santa Fe Council of the Arts. Dr. Halpin was involved in discussions to bring the display to Vancouver for Expo ’86.

Textile Access Project

Subseries consists of the project proposal and contact sheets and negatives. The subseries also includes copied sketches detailing the exhibit space.

Textile Collections’ Management Records

Subseries consists of records pertaining to the management of the textiles collections held at the Museum of Anthropology. Areas of focus include records on conservation, storage, and display of textiles.
