Traveling exhibits

Subseries consists primarily of material from the exhibit Man and His World in Montreal 1969-1970. Predominantly, the files contain correspondence with Rudy Kovach regarding design of the exhibit, as well as with Dr. Walter Gage and various Montreal officials including Mayor Drapeau. The records in this subseries take the form of correspondence, newspaper clippings, ephemera, inventories, plans and insurance evaluations.

Trip to Village Island and Tzatsisnukomi (New Vancouver) photographs 2005

Consists of photographs documenting Jensen and Powell’s trip to Village Island and New Vancouver in 2005. People included are: Bill Holm, Marty Holm, Bill Cranmer, Emma Tamilin, William “Wah” Wasden Jr., Jay Stewart, Guy Buchholtzer, Dr Pat Shaw, Dr Marie Mauze, Bruce White, Jack Knox, Debra Brasser, Judy (surname unknown), and skipper Bill McKay.

Tsimshian treasures from the Dundas collection

This subseries consists of records related to the traveling exhibit that came to MOA called <i>Treasures of the Tsimshian from the Dundas Collection.</i> Records include draft correspondence, and draft exhibit photos and text (including case labels).

Tsimshian-Gitxsan materials

Consists of Tsimshian language education materials produced by Margaret Seguin and Susan Marsden. The materials were used by Powell for research purposes during his work on the Gitxsan books.

UBC credit

Subseries consists of material which relates to courses taught at UBC and the students that took them. Subseries consists of correspondence, letters of recommendation, memoranda, and a report from the Graduate Studies Review Committee, and teaching material and notes.

Ulli Steltzer Photograph Exhibit

Subseries consists of one file relating to an exhibition, proposed by Ulli Steltzer to Elizabeth Johnson, on the subject of a photograph exhibit representing indigenous and ethnic minorities in China. The subseries includes a project proposal: stage 1, correspondence, and memoranda.

Unity Quilt: Traditional Parenting Skills Program – Indian Homemaker’s Association

This exhibit was developed with the Traditional Parenting Skills Program of the Indian Homemaker’s Association of British Columbia. The project was created to show the evolution of the Association. The quilt serves as a visual symbol that represents the unity of Aboriginal people as well as the distinctiveness of each individual’s nation, community and family.

Unpublished manuscript and lessons

Includes a number of versions of the unpublished manuscript titled "Chinook Jargon: The Language of Northwest History." Also included are the lessons prepared for the Chinook Jargon classes taught by Powell at Langara College, 1974 – 75.
