Traditional B. C. Coast Architecture

The Alert Bay Community House, completed in 1963. The two post arches are 17 feet high, supporting two 70 foot logs, each measuring 3 feet in diameter and weighing 5 tons. File consists of photographs of carver Tracy Powell working on a Salish-style canoe in Anacortes. Jensen was asked by Samish tribal chairman Kenny Hansen to document the event.

Town at the head of the inlet

Item is a series of two photographs showing the rooftops of houses and a totem pole in the foreground. The pole is known as the Nispiq Pole. It belonged to Chief Simon Walkus, Sr. and tells of the origins of the Wuikinuxv people.
