This file contains letters from John Jacobson to Wilson Duff. These detail Nuu-chah-nulth oral history and whaling practices, as well as historical connections between Ahousaht and other Nuu-chah-nulth villages. Later letters include explorations into comparative linguistics between Nuu-chah-nulth and the Dakota language, as well as notes about similar culture practices between Nuu-chah-nulth and Cheyenne peoples. The file also contains a page from the Sept. 17, 1969 edition of the Alberni Valley Times, where a transcript provided by Jacobson is reprinted. The transcript is from a report provided by British naval officer Joseph Denman about his 1864 attack on Ahousaht.
