Temporary exhibits

Subseries consists of material on exhibits, both at the UBC Museum of Anthropology and elsewhere. Files include material on the following exhibits: People of the Potlatch, The Trader and the Goods of Trade, Roy Vickers. These files include correspondence relating to possible exhibitions of oriental material and of Japanese, Greek, Roman and Etruscan material. The records in this subseries take the form of correspondence, memoranda, notes, sketches, news paper clippings, ephemera, plans and photographs.

Test prints

File contains photocopies of images of some of the silver work featured in the <i>Signed withot Signature: Works by Charles and Isabella Edenshaw</i> exhibit.

Text and photographs

File contains images of the text that was used as well as images of the exhibit <i>Show and Tell: The Story of the Big Mac Box</i>. In addition there are two images on the contact sheet that show a different exhibit titled <i>Blood from Stone</i>.

Textile Fibre: Cedar Bark

Display for the exhibit "Technologies of the North West Coast." Shows cedar bark clothing, baskets, hats, a model canoe, and images of different uses of cedar bark.

Textile Fibre: Reeds and Grasses

Display for the exhibit "Technologies of the Northwest Coast." Shows examples of fibres and various stages of fibres being woven together to produce objects. Shows finished products such as baskets and nets.

The Chinese Scholar and … Values

Display for the exhibit "Chinese Values." Shows scrolls, calligraphy instruments, paintings, books, figurines, and other items. Items for this exhibit were borrowed from numerous individual donors under the direction of Dr. Ping-ti Ho.

The Culture of Japan

Introductory panel for the exhibit "The Culture of Japan." This exhibit was done on the arrival of materials collected by Dr. Ronald Dore of the department of Asian Studies who directed the installation of this exhibit.
