Museum events and performances files

Series consists of records related to events and performances held at the Museum of Anthropology and the publicity received by these events and performances, particularly publicity generated by the Public Relations and Communications Office. In addition to records regarding general events and performances, the series include records related to special visits made to the museum by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Princess Margaret, Premier Brian Mulroney, Premier Zhao of China, and King Juan Carlos of Spain, records regarding trips sponsored by the museum, as well as calendars of events produced by the Public Relations Officer between 1984 and 1990.

Reporting

This series largely reflects the production of programme plans for the Museum Assistance Program submitted to National Museums of Canada, and the MOA annual report. Series consists of records relating to museum exhibits that were In House (MOA based exhibit displayed at MOA), Traveling In (exhibits from outside institutions), and/or Traveling Out (a MOA based exhibit that travels for exhibition outside of MOA). The records include correspondence, interdepartmental memoranda, loan agreements, exhibit receipts, exhibit proposals and forms, news releases, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, colour photocopies, display labels, negatives, slides, and photographs.

Photographs

Series consists of photographs, negative and slides documenting activities of the Museum of Anthropology. Most activities took place at the museum, but some took place elsewhere. The activities documented include exhibit openings, exhibit preparation, celebrations, artists working, presentations, conferences, workshops, and notable guests.
Slides in subseries 1-5 are stored in five binders, arranged chronologically. Photographs, negatives and slides in subseries 6-8 are stored in boxes, arranged according to the events they depict. Slides in subseries 9 are stored in a box, arranged topically.
