Series consists of notes Duff took while visiting First Nations communities. The materials consist of handwritten notes by Duff concerning totem poles, carvers, language and social organization of the communities. There are also some notes of conversations with community members or stories recounted by them.

Series consists of records created and collected by Duff relating to his work as professor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the University of British Columbia.

Series consists of Conservation records that cannot be attributed to a specific member of the Conservation staff. There are currently only two files in this series. As of 2017, the majority of Conservation records in the archives came from Conservator Miriam Clavir. These records can be found in the Miram Clavir series of the Conservation sous-fonds.

Some files group together materials related to specific types of programming or events ("Talks and lectures," or "Youth and children's programs," for example). Other files are focused on a specific program, event, or ceremony. The "Miscellaneous programs" file groups together materials related to more than one type of program or event.

Series consists of posters that generally promote MOA or support MOA's functions.

Series consists of documentation from two additional committees that played a role in planning the Museum of Anthropology building. Material includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, and other planning documents.

The series is divided into two subseries, one for each committee (the Senate Building Needs Committee and the Users`Committee).

Series consists of material related to Morrison’s role as a designer and involvement with the creation, planning and implementation of several exhibits at MOA. The designer’s role is to develop the overall physical presentation of the exhibit, and to determine how the exhibit can be an effective visual communicator. The designer develops ways of showing objects, graphics, and text that make up the exhibition.

The series is comprised of twenty sub-series corresponding to each exhibit that Darrin Morrison was involved in. Material consists of correspondence, exhibit catalogs, brochures, poster and invitation proofs, budgets, slides, copy and 35 mm negatives, floppy disks, project descriptions, postcards, artist histories, class schedules, artifact lists, floor plans, and display case dimensions.

These records relate to the administrative duties carried out by Carol Mayer either in relation to exhibitions or other miscellaneous events such as courses taught at Emily Carr College of Art and Design, conference planning and participation on a provincial Task Force on Museum and First Nations.

Series includes records created, received, and/or set aside by Pam Brown and her predecessor Anne-Marie Fenger in the course of their duties as supervisors of the Native Youth Programme (NYP, also called the Native Youth Project). Since 1999 Pam Brown has supervised the Native Youth Programme (NYP, formerly called the Native Youth Project), which aims to provide First Nations high school students with the opportunity to gain leadership and public speaking skills through a season of full-time employment as cultural interpreters at MOA. Brown’s responsibilities as NYP supervisor include securing funding for the employment of a program coordinator and six students and overseeing their training. The NYP was originally founded in 1979 by MOA curator Madeline Bronsdon-Rowan, who served as the program’s first supervisor. Bronsdon-Rowan retired in 1987 and was succeeded by Anne-Marie Fenger, whose records Brown subsequently inherited.

The records in this series document the organization and administration of the Native Youth Programme and the functions and activities of the NYP supervisor, including: student worker recruitment and training, educational programs and presentations, grants and funding, public events (including fundraising), field trips, publicity, and conference planning.

Records in this series include correspondence, memoranda, reports, press clippings, grant applications, press releases, schedules, liability waivers, study trip itineraries, public comment books, student assignments, scripts for student presentations, photographs, and audio recordings.

Series consists of records produced during the planning and execution of the 1998 Repatriation Forum. Pam Brown coordinated the Forum, which was held in the First Nations House of Learning and co-sponsored by UBC MOA, the Museum of the American Indian, and the Smithsonian Institute. Following the Forum, Pam Brown solicited permission from speakers to include their talks in a booklet of the Forum proceedings. Records in the series include invitations to speakers, registration records (including payment information), correspondence, permission forms, evaluation forms, and transcripts.

Series consists of creative works written about Duff after his death, as well as a book of unpublished writings of Duff (Birds of Paradox). Works include rough and completed drafts of poems, short stories, articles, essays, a book and an opera.

Textual records, porcupine quills, dried leaves, brochures and other materials which do not clearly fall into existing categories.

Maps created, acquired, and used by Duff in his research and teaching activities. The materials show geographical features; location and boundaries of territories and villages of Northwest coast native people; reserves; language families and distribution, influences, and historical features. Included are ms. maps; and copied, traced, outline and published maps, most with added ms. notations.

The Base maps sub-series consists of topographic maps produced as bases for the creation of other maps to show the locations and territorial boundaries of native people within British Columbia. Maps include ms. notations by Duff.

The Territory maps sub-series consists of ms. maps; and base, outline, copied and photocopied maps with ms. notations. Items show location and boundaries of native territories in British Columbia and the United States. Includes maps showing extent and detail of Tsimshian territory; Kispiox sites; Kitwancool territory and sites; South Kwakiutl territory, villages and tribes. Notations identify some place names and villages.

The Reserve maps sub-series consist of copied and published maps with ms. notations showing the location and extent of various reserves. Some acreage is also included.

The Miscellaneous Maps sub-series consists of published, copied and outline maps showing language families in North America, influences on British Columbia native people, historical distribution of native people in B.C., and Vancouver Island in the 19th century.

This series consists of records relating to educational programs and special events for the general public at MOA. Educational programs include self-guided and guided tours, children’s programs, and programs for adults relating to museum exhibits. Special events include lectures, film series, exhibit openings, exhibits programs, dance and theatre performances, concerts, artist talks and demonstrations, seminars, symposiums, dialogues, workshops, summer camps, welcoming ceremonies for visiting cultural groups (such as Tibetan monks and Maori), fashion shows, book launches, and research interviews. The series contains press releases, brochures and handouts, correspondence, memoranda, reports, newspaper clippings, photographs, meeting minutes, program instructions, program development, attendance sheets, schedules, audio and video recordings, audiotape inventory, and interview transcripts.

Series consists of records created by McLennan in the course of planning and designing various exhibits, both at MOA and on behalf of MOA for other institutions such as the World Expo in 1986. Each specific exhibit comprises its own sub-series. Graphic material includes photographic material depicting artifacts used in the exhibit, artifacts at other institutions that could potentially be used for exhibit, staff involved in exhibit, events held surrounding the opening and closing of an exhibit including any special ceremonies and other people and items related to the exhibit. Textual material includes label text, research conducted in order to strengthen the exhibits, correspondence between McLennan and cultural heritage institutions, administrative records (i.e. budgets and finances, schedules and time frames) and public relations materials.
Subseries 1 through subseries 64 represent an earlier time frame when McLennan’s role at MOA was more related to exhibit and graphic design than to actively curating exhibits. Subseries 65 through subseries 81 represent McLennan’s increased role as a curator of exhibits which he often researched, curated and did the exhibit design.

Series contains photographs collected for curatorial research by MOA staff, mostly relating to First Nations geographical areas, cultures, and artists. The series also includes photographs documenting MOA activities, staff, and volunteers.

The photographs are organized into two subseries:

B. MOA Activities, 1976 and later

Series contains records pertaining to the Canada Foundation for Innovation grant named Partnership of Peoples that was awarded to the Museum of Anthropology in 2007. This project is often simply referred to by museum staff as 'the renewal'. David Cunningham was the lead project designer. His records include the architectural drawings from Stantec and Laboratorio Museotecnico Goppion, research and planning on furniture, lighting, locks, and security. In addition are photographs taken of all stages of the project.

Series contains photographs taken by Cunningham of the inside and outside of the building, exhibit cases, exhibit spaces, and other institutions.

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, reports, handwritten notations, draft copies, cue cards, comment book, photographs, negatives, contact sheets, slides, application grants specific to exhibitions and other textual and graphic records related to the preparation of exhibitions within the Museum.
