Series consists of records relating to the Oceanic Art Symposium.

Series is made up of records relating to the creation of a Chinook Jargon dictionary, a Big Book created for the Quileute on Chinook Jargon, and lessons for a Chinook Jargon class at Langara College. Powell documented the use of Chinook Jargon in LaPush during research on the Quileute language. His informants used Chinook Jargon regularly, and he began to research the history of its use on the Northwest Coast with the intention of writing a book about it. The manuscript for his book was accepted by the publishing company Douglas and McIntyre, but as Powell was not satisfied with his work, publication did not take place. However, he did produce a number of works that have been used for education purposes in LaPush as well as in British Columbia.

Series consists of books created by or contributed to by Powell and Jensen. Many of the publications are final versions of the language education materials made for community use. A small number are publications on indigenous culture of the Northwest Coast for which Powell and Jensen were consulted, or in which Jensen’s photographs were used.

Series also contains a small number of magazine articles authored by Powell or Jensen.

Series consists of illustrations and other artwork made by Stewart, either for personal purposes or to be used in publications authored by other people. In addition to the artwork, the series also includes research, photographs, and correspondence related to the production and publication of the works. The series divided into four sub-series:

C – Wisdom of the Elders (by Ruth Kirk)
D – Antiquity (by Dale Cross)

Series consists of six sound recordings, digitized from three cassette tapes. Recorded content includes Xa'islakala vocabulary and sentence exercises, along with compiled segments of radio reports and interviews regarding events in and around Kitimat in the 1970s and early 1980s. Recorded language materials are intended to be used as supplementary to the textual course materials.

Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, guest lists, invitations, press releases, newspaper clippings, calculations, photographs and other textual material related to various events at the Museum of Anthropology, including the Museum’s official opening in 1976 and Prince Charles’ visit to the Museum for the unveiling of The Raven. Also included are publications about the Museum written by various staff members, drafts of Audrey Hawthorn’s manuscript which was eventually published as A Labour of Love and other records relating to grant applications, research and editing for this book.

Series consists of photographs documenting Northwest Coast artists and their work throughout the 1970s and 1980s

Jensen first began to photograph works of art for Bud Mintz around 1973 when he was working for Langara College. Before he opened his gallery she would go to the College to photograph the jewellery and art he had for sale. Often the pieces had been purchased and he wanted to document what he had sold. Once he opened his gallery of Indigenous art in South Vancouver, Jensen would go to the gallery to take pictures.

Through her work with Bud Mintz Jensen met many Northwest coast artists, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous. As she developed relationships with many of these artists, she documented them and their work.

Some of the later photographs of artists were taken to accompany articles and other work that Jensen was doing at the time.

Series relates to public programming activities associated with museum exhibits, including the museum exhibits committee, organizing of traveling exhibits and public programming related to exhibits and participation in other exhibit related activities.
Series consists of memoranda, correspondence, proposals, news releases, clippings, inventories, publications, photographs, circulars, budgets, programme descriptions, schedules, staff guidelines and other textual material.
This series is arranged into 3 sub-series:
A. Exhibits Committee (1982-1985): Sub-Series relates to Ratner’s participation in the museums exhibits committee.
B. Coordinating (1974-1986): Sub-series reflects the organizing of traveling
exhibits, and participation in other exhibit related activities other than public
programming.
C. Programming (1977-1987): Sub-series reflects activities related to public
programming associated with museum exhibits.

Series consists of written X̄a’islak̓ala (Haisla language) documentation and learning materials by the Dutch linguist Hein Vink (also known as Henry Vink). These language materials consist of a dictionary, one beginner course book, and one advanced level Haisla learning course book. The series also contains written tellings of traditional Kitimat stories, as told by Jeffrey Legaic and collected by Gisele Mendel.

Series consists of brochures, memorandums, correspondence, lecture notes, research notes, labels, schedules, and articles pertaining to Madeline Bronsdon Rowan's responsibility as curator in charge of the exhibits Dress and Identity (1977), East African Medicine (1978), and Cedar: The Great Provider (1984). The series also includes the visible storage plan designed by students (H. Maximee and B. Gielbing) from the Department of Anthropology.

Also included are records relating to two events which took place at the Museum of Anthropology: the Norman Tait Barbecue, an open public event for all to attend; and Inuit Art Round Table, during which issues related to Inuit art were discussed by a panel of curators and First Nations people.

Series consists of photographs documenting events in various communities throughout British Columbia and Washington State. These include community photographs in Mt. Currie; the Salish Linguistic Conference in Oman, Washington State; a Robert Davidson Pole Raising; coverage of NWC artifacts at the National Museum of Copenhagen in Denmark; coverage of 1992 Nuxalk Potlatch at Bella Coola for Canadian Museum of Civilization; and photographs of a Haida bentwood box.

Between working on language and education projects, Jensen was often hired by communities to document important events, such as pole-raisings, conferences and potlatches. This series consists of the photographs taken at those events.

Series consists of interview transcripts, film scripts, reports, guidelines, photographs and research notes pertaining to various projects conducted at the Museum of Anthropology by Madeline Bronsdon Rowan, including the Penal Project, Haida House, Kwakiutl House Carving Project, Centennial Projects and Bill Reid's interview, "Haida Means Human Being".

Series consist of minutes, reports, statistics, memorandums, correspondence, evaluations, advertisements, budgets, workshop notes, programme notes, curriculum vitae, contacts, information packages and bibliographies pertaining to school based programmes and workshops for both students and teachers offered in schools and Museum of Anthropology. Series consists of textual records, photographs, and other graphic material related to the advertising and promotional activities of the Public Relations and Communications Office, as well as its function as liaison with the media and its use of various forms of media to communicate with the public. Includes records relating to Museum of Anthropology advertisements and publicity, as well as records related to the Office’s media contacts and relations, television and film projects filmed at the museum, as well as records related to the production and distribution of Museum of Anthropology publications.

This series consists entirely of graphic materials. While the materials are not accompanied by any contextual information, it can be assumed that the images found in this series were taken by Ruus on various trips. Specifically this photographic documentation examines textiles from China, Macedonia, Croatia, Slovakia, the Circum-Polar region, India, the South Western United States, South America, the Middle-East and Europe. Record forms included in this series are slides, photographs, and memoranda.
