The fonds consists of records relating to Skooker Broome’s function as a designer and as a coordinator for building services at UBC's Museum of Anthropology and contains detailed records relating to producing, planning, designing, and installing exhibits at the Museum of Anthropology. Records include correspondence, drawings, notes, memos, minutes, reports, photographs, proofs, labels, and other materials.

Hand coloured sepia photograph of Gitskan village including structures, totems poles and small groupings of walking people taken by the father of Ena M. Montador. He was a salesman who traveled up and down the coast and may be one of the people in the photograph.Gitskan is a National Historic Site of Canada located at Kitwanga, British Columbia in the Skeena Country in the northwestern region of the province. It was an 18th century earthwork fortress also known as Battle Hill. Gitskan village features several wooden totem poles (featured in the photograph) that were originally erected by several clans on Battle Hill but were moved due to floods.

Fonds consists of five glass plate negatives taken in the early 1930s by James B. W. Cater when he worked for a farming company on Rapa Nui (Easter Island), a Chilean island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle.

Glass plate negatives feature: a young girl posed in front of a moai, the monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people; a portrait of a young girl; group portraits taken outdoors.

This fonds consists of 136 slides taken by E. Polly Hammer on various trips to British Columbia, Alaska, Manitoba, and Minnesota during the time she was based in Manitoba. The slides primarily depict totem poles from throughout the Northwest coast, including carvings by Mungo Martin and Henry Hunt. There are also depictions of petroglyphs and other works of art, as well as buildings (houses, museums, forts, and other dwelling places) and landscapes. There are also several photographs of events attended and photographed by E. Polly Hammer. The fonds also contains a booklet with information on and images of totem poles in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

The fonds reflects the religious work and family history of Rev. George Stallworthy and his descendants. The fonds consists of correspondence and drawings related to the family's time in the South Pacific; 20 photographic portraits of family members; sermons, article reprints, and correspondence related to George Burnett Stallworthy's religious work and life; and a scrapbook containing memoranda, correspondence, photographs, clippings, pamphlets, genealogical research, and other ephemera from the Stallworthy family up to 1925.

The fonds consists of materials related to Fuyubi Nakamura's role as Curator of Asian Collections at the Museum of Anthropology (2014-present). Currently this exclusively relates to records of the exhibit (In)visible: The Spiritual World of Taiwan through Contemporary Art/形(無)形-台灣當代藝術的靈性世界 (November 20, 2015 – April 3, 2016).

Fonds consists of a set of tapes of interviews and the corresponding interview transcripts with Dr. Charles (Carl) E. Borden, late Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at the University of British Columbia, in June/July 1978. Additional textual records include comments made off-tape by Dr. Charles E. Borden during the course of the interviews. The interviews were conducted, transcribed, and edited by Anne Williams for her thesis Carl Borden and archaeology in British Columbia: an interactive history. The interviews relate to the social history of archaeology in British Columbia and were made possible by a British Columbia Youth Employment Program grant.

Fonds consists of records related to the Binnings’ correspondence with (predominantly) friends and colleagues overseas in Japan from 1959 to 1971, including Bishop Kojo Sakamoto and members of his family. Mostly composed of personal letters written by hand, several letters are painted using calligraphy. Other records include program brochures and news clippings for exhibits in Japan and North America, and scrapbooks assembled by the Binnings. These either commemorate various visits they took to Japan or of visits their Japanese friends took to Canada. Fonds is divided into three series:

The records in this fonds pertain to Rev. Crosby’s missionary activities and personal life in British Columbia, Canada. Personal life and missionary activity records include: photographs, bibles, hymns, scriptures, and one textile object.

Fonds consists of matted prints of engravings made from sketches created by John Webber as official artist on Captain James Cook’s third voyage. Prints depict landscapes, animals, people, clothing styles, architecture, and events that were encountered on the voyage in places such as New Zealand, the Friendly Islands (Tonga), the Sandwich Islands (the Hawaiian Islands), Nootka Sound (Vancouver Island, BC), and Van Dieman’s Land (Tasmania).

Fonds consists of a paper written for Anthropology 301 taught by Professor Dr. Michael Kew, entitled [Red Cod Island Village or Ninstints Village] - A Memorial, with accompanying colour slide images of the carved poles of Anthony Island, a permanent village of the Kunghit Haida, located on the southern shores of Haida Gwaii.

The fonds consists of 17 photographic prints taken by Robert Keziere on October 20, 1982 of artist Bill Reid working in his Kerrisdale (Vancouver) studio. The film remained unprocessed until 2009, when it was developed and the prints, contact sheet, and DVD were created. The DVD contains image files in multiple resolutions. In 2021 an additional roll of film was discovered by Keziere and prints, negatives, contact sheet, and USB flash drive were added to the fonds.

The fonds consists of photographs of Gloria Kaplan with various indigenous artists, whose names have been recorded in the image titles and IPTC metadata. The photographs were taken by Selig Kaplan with the intention of documenting the artists from whom the Kaplans acquired artwork or anticipated acquiring artwork from.

The fonds consists of one file titled Interview Transcripts, which contains recorded interviews, transcripts, and printed copies of transcribed interviews of research done by Sharon Fortney towards her PhD thesis titled Forging New Partnerships: Coast Salish Communities and Museums. Forney's thesis explores what motivates Coast Salish communities to participate in museum representations; considers the legal implications of such representations with respect to aboriginal rights; and analyzes of the diverse experiences of Coast Salish individuals in specific museum projects and partnerships with the goal of progressing museum and community interactions along a path to equal partnership.

The audiotapes in the fonds contain interviews with Coast Salish community members and artists regarding museums. The CD-R contains transcripts of interviews and is located in the temporary CD storage box. Sharon Fortney's curriculam vitae, thesis abstract, and 10 interviewee consent forms are located in the case file.

Fonds consists of photographic material created by Dr. Stephen Inglis and a series of twenty-four black and white prints depicting potters in a small community in India or images of fertility statues photographed by colleague Walter Huber. The colour negatives show local artisans and their works. The black and white photos mounted on cards were created between 1974 and 1977 and show Indian craftspeople, particularly Bengalis and Tamils. The images may have been created for the purpose of Dr. Inglis’s PhD research.

AC2002-48-025  48-76 are 51 colour negatives that depict local craftspeople and shrines in India.

AC2002-22-001 22-160 are black and white photographic prints mounted on white card. The images depict local Indian craftspeople, particularly Bengalis and Tamils. Some are identified with location and what is happening in the photo, while some are unidentified.

Fonds consists of nitrate negatives, copy negatives, prints and postcards of China and Japan, specifically of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing (Peking), Yokohama and Nagasaki. These images were taken by Stuart Schofield during a geological survey expedition in 1923-24. In 1925, Mrs. Florence Schofield compiled the photographs into an album and provided comments for the photos from her memory of the trip.

An accrual to this fonds was discovered in the backlog. It is not known whether this accrual was part of the original accession. In adding this accrual, the case file was consulted and the photocopy of Dr. Schofield’s journal was discovered. This was added to the binder that contains the prints, negatives, and postcards.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson was responsible for organizing this fonds and she has identified some places and people that were not originally identified by Mrs. Schofield. Her annotations appear in square brackets.

Accrual #2010-06 was added after Dr. Johnson’s organization. This included photographs and postcards. One postcard is dated 1969, but most appear to be ca. 1923-1924 like the original materials.

The fonds consists of photographs and textual records relating to Delahaye’s years working in Zambia, Africa with the Lozi people.
